What we do
We build software and services that let people talk to each other without anyone listening in, and without data being collected that can later be used against them.
That second half is worth dwelling on. It is rarely the eavesdropping in the moment that does the damage. The problem is that conversations become data, that data stays, and that information gathered for one purpose has a habit of being used for something else entirely a few years later — by different people, under different rules. Our tools are built so that there is nothing there to take.
In practice that means making choices most people never see: encryption where it actually counts, no collection we do not need, and saying clearly what isnot protected. That last one is often the most useful.
Where we are
Comraich ANS is based in Lunner, in the Hadeland district about 50 km north of Oslo. Rural surroundings and a small company — a short distance between deciding something and getting it done, and nobody with an interest in us doing it differently.
Background
The company was founded on 21 February 2020. Our first app, SSH TunnelBuilder, reached the Mac App Store in October 2021 and we have shipped updates regularly ever since. Alongside it we are building kantn.no.
